Style with Sustainability

Fashion. It’s your personal choice. It reflects your lifestyle. It's what sets you apart from the crowd.

So why not make your personal fashion a sustainable and eco-conscious style statement? 😌

Slow fashion is the talk of the town today. Millennials, influencers and celebrities worldwide are making the eco-conscious choice of switching to ethical slow fashion. Slow fashion advocates buying consciously to avoid our clothes choking the landfills once worn and discarded.

Recently on Earth Day (22nd of April), we saw some of the famous divas of Bollywood embrace ethical fashion and how!

We loved Alia Bhatt’s “Bloni’’ saree crafted from waste recycled nylon and metallic parachute and Deepika Padukone’s stunning georgette saree from Navyasa by Liva. The saree was a statement piece adorned with hues of green and blue, designed in modern viscose made out of cellulose (a type of natural fibre). Both celebs endorsed conscious Fashion and set a trend for all of us. Eco-friendly and conscious fashion is definitely not boring, is just as glamorous and definitely here to stay!

It is truly a time of redefinition for fashion with ethical brands.

With so much inspiration around, you must be wondering how can you change your fashion game, choose the right brands, and dazzle in ethically-made apparel?

Put your mind to ease as we’ve curated a list of Home-grown labels and brands to shop:

1. Adah by Leesha:

0% Waste, 100% Taste.

With the aim to reduce nasty landfills, minimise waste, and re-use scrap fabrics, Leesha Agarwal passionately launched Adah; a handloom brand with zero waste at its heart.

Adah’s summer-wear clothing line carries a range of beautiful and stylish dresses, tunics, and pants made from cool cotton and ikat fabrics.

At Adah, every scrap is upcycled into Knick -knacks like scrunchies, diaries, hair bows and earrings. Even the brand labels are made out of discarded tetra packs.

How awesome is that?

2. Soham Dave:

If you thought sustainable fashion can’t be an experience, think again!

Founded in 2011, Soham Dave brings together fashion, craft, and sustainability with classic and comfortable ensembles.

Soham Dave’s entire collection speaks of minimal designs, natural fabrics, and beautiful textures designed by local artisans and weavers.

‘Light & Shadow’ the latest launch by the label is a range of relaxed fit, 100% cotton, and hand-woven ensembles by artisans of West Bengal. The collection has a summer vibe with monochromes, eccentric designs, and contrasting patchworks.
